The well-known statues on Easter Island, the Moai, still remain a mystery to scholars. The statues are over 4 meters high, but no one has any idea who built them, why they built them, how they got there and so on…
One of the theories is that civilization lived here a long time ago, but that the lack of resources on the island and slavery are the cause of the extinction of the island people.
How to get to the islands
Easter Island is located 3,760 km from Santiago; also called Rapa Nui is one of the most distant areas in the world. There is no direct flight from Europe or Africa to get there, but the journey becomes easy and less painful from Santiago.
We advise you to first book a plane ticket to Chile (Santiago – Chile), and then take a direct flight to the island. Choose a good company to avoid any unpleasant situations.
